The SOL Breads range

The SOL Breads range offers traditional wheat sourdough, wheat alternatives using ancient grains, and gluten-free and dairy-free breads.

Our range of artisan breads includes hand-shaped and tinned loaves, sliced and whole loaves. Our tangy, chewy breads are naturally leavened and benefit from a slow, natural proofing process and stone baking. We know you can taste the difference.

The SOL Breads range now also includes wholesome artisan sweets baked goods including decadent gluten-free brownies, slices and cookies packed with popular superfood ingredients like chia, nuts and seeds.

The SOL Breads story

SOL Breads was founded in 1998 by a small group of bread enthusiasts dedicated to baking true artisanal breads. Starting life in a garage in Brisbane’s ethnic foodie hub West End, the team began their labour of love, crafting breads with certified organic stone-ground flours and using only natural fermentation techniques.

A bigger premises and bakery café soon followed, our growth dictated by market interest but also our commitment to never compromising on quality or consistency. A loyal following grew, with foodies from Brisbane to Byron Bay seeking out our authentic tasting and high quality, additive free breads.

Today a number of products in the SOL Breads range are stocked by Australia’s major retailers, taking our humble, honest breads to homes around the country. And through our wholesale and food service channels, to cafes and restaurants far and wide.
